Suppress the stress, heal the body

After much research I believe I have come up with a supplement stack and can drastically improve the recuperation process after intense workouts. The main point of this stack is to reduce your cortisol levels. Cortisol is produced by the adrenal gland when the body is subjected to stress  is a very catabolic hormone that suppresses your immune system and eats muscle like candy. Some cortisol is good. If you didn’t have any then any traumatic or stressful event would cause you to go into shock and maybe even die. When cortisol is over produced it can be very harmful,  slowing muscle growth, causing your body to store fat, bone loss…I could go on but I think you get the picture. Magnolia bark reduces cortisol levels. Take it first thing in the morning and immediately after a workout. Cortisol levels are highest at these times. Cut out the caffeine and sub green tea if you need to have a hot beverage in the morning to get you going. Green T has a small amount of caffeine but it also has an amino acid called Theanine which has a calming affect, counteracting the caffeine. In addition to the magnolia bark, take a serving of glutamine first think in the morning. Instead of the cortisol cannabilizing the protein in your muscles if will first start working on the glutamine in your blood stream, leaving your muscle alone. Now, within 30 minutes of an intense workout take the magnesium, 3000 mg of vitamin C, 2000 mg of fish oil and another serving of glutamine and in addition to those, the creatine. An interesting fact about creatine….when someone takes steroids it increases protein synthesis, allowing them to eat more protein and actually put all that protein to use. Creatine does the same thing, to a lesser extent of course. That’s why people who take steroids don’t need creatine. So, if you want to follow this regimen, I recommend doing it for about two months. That’s what I’m doing. Let me know what You think and if you have any questions. I’ve been doing a lot of reading about glutamine and this is probably the best supplement to take next to creatine in my opinion. You just need to make sure you take it at the right time. There is no sense taking it before you go to bed, in my opinion, because your cortisol levels are already at there lowest.

Cortisol Reduction:
Magnolia bark  400 mg – morning and post workout
ZMA – 30 minutes prior to sleep
Magnesium (250mg tablets) 1 tablet with post workout meal
Vitamin C (1000mg tablets) 3 tablets with post workout meal
Fish oil (1000mg capsules) 2 capsules with post workout meal.
Glutamine – 5 grams in the morning and with post workout meal.
Increased Protein Synthesis:
Creatine –  5 grams with post workout meal (load up for the first seven days by taking 15 to 20 grams split up throughout the day)

If you are willing to try this stack please let me know about your results.
